I've already shared the story of how we got married, but I thought I'd also show you.
We had our "to do" list.
We had our shoes.
Just like normal, we ate our morning oatmeal and got dressed.
We drove to San Francisco.
We filled out all our forms and met with the commissioner.
Then, we got married...
...and sealed it with a kiss.
We left City Hall as husband and wife.
We went around the city to take pictures.
We went to Baker Beach and walked along the sand...
..and I tried to drag him in.
We took some gorgeous pictures so we'd never forget the day.
We also took some funny pictures - Who's married? ME?!
Haha, yes!
As we left the city, my husband wouldn't stop playing with his ring. He still does this every day.
We went to our favorite place for lunch, the Woodside Deli.
Everyone there was pretty excited.
The first person we told was Chris' mom, Heidi.
We laughed and had lunch.
Then, we went to tell Heidi's parents, Grandma Martha and Grandpa Mike.
Next, we went to surprise Chris' dad's parents. Grandma Joan was the only one home. She was having a tea party with her friends. Surprise!
Off to tell Chris' dad. He was ecstatic!
Next, we told Chris' sisters, his step mom, and her mother, Diane.
Then back to Grandma Joan's to tell Grandpa John who had just gotten home from playing dominos with friends.
After, we jumped in the pool.
Just kidding.
We went to see Grandpa Earl, Grandma Diane's husband, to tell him the fantastic news.
Our last stop was to my dad's to tell him, my step mom and my brothers.
This is exactly how we wanted to get married. No fuss, no muss, just lots and lots of love.
None of these memories would have been possible without our amazing photographer, Jenna. The last picture of the night was taken Chris and Caroline style on our camera.
Her: A sleep deprived, slightly neurotic, knitting labor and delivery nurse. Him: A fun loving 9-year-old video game junkie trapped in an adult's body. She tries to get him to grow up, and he reminds her how to stay young... Two peas in a pod.
