Nothing exciting happened, but today was perfect.
I slept really well last night in my favorite pjs.
I got up at 6:30 and ate the most delicious bacon, egg and cheese croissant sandwich for breakfast.
I went to a staff meeting at 7:30.
I bought strawberries and flowers from the farmers' market.
I knit one and a half baby hats.
I Skyped with Jessyka who is halfway around the world for an hour and a half.
I ate yogurt, strawberries and an avocado/turkey/arugula wrap for lunch.
I (finally) watched Valentine's Day while Chris did homework.
My foot is numb from sitting in the same spot on the sofa for so long.
In front of me, credits from the movie, on the table, my new flowers.
To my right, Chris doing homework.
I see his face perfectly between his two monitors.
Under his desk, I watch him play with his ring.
Sometimes he stops to watch our little frog in the small tank on the corner of his desk.
It's in the low 60s outside in the middle of January.
Chris just got up to light the grill on the balcony.
We're having steak for dinner.
I'll take a 3 hour nap after dinner then head off to work.
Chris will pack me a lunch, most likely with leftover steak and strawberries.
Like I said, nothing exciting happened, but today was, is perfect.
Her: A sleep deprived, slightly neurotic, knitting labor and delivery nurse. Him: A fun loving 9-year-old video game junkie trapped in an adult's body. She tries to get him to grow up, and he reminds her how to stay young... Two peas in a pod.
