Summer means:
My little cousin, Sarah Kay, graduated from high school.
She also turned 18.
We went to her party...
The oldest of Chris' two sisters, Jerusha, graduated from high school.
We made her an awesome sign and got in the newspaper(Look at picture #21).
Remember little Quintin? Not so little anymore, we hung out with him all day the day before Father's Day. We brought him to my dad's house for a BBQ and he loved on my sister's dog, Maverick.
He absolutely loves Chris.
We also tried to get in a little night time swimming.
We did a little hiking at Henry Cowell State Park.
And a little beer tasting with Chris' cousin, Sarah, and our friends.
We also bought a new car...a Prius V!
Chris did have to say goodbye to his truck though.
Chris also started the police academy this week. He's gone from 6:30 in the morning and gets home at 6 at night with just enough time to have dinner before homework and going to bed. He's a busy, busy bee which means I need to step up and help with the housework, laundry (he's done all the laundry for 1.5+ years, I was spoiled!) and cooking. He's enjoying it so far...despite being yelled at and all the homework. The police academy is through the end of the year, ending on December 14th. I can't wait for a relaxed Christmas this year!
While Chris is at the academy, I'm still working my night shifts and started my macroeconomics class for the 6-week summer course. It's much easier than my statistics class so I can't complain.
The rest of our summer will be full of more work and school, zipping around in our new Prius and figuring out how to juggle household chores. I look forward to our breaks every other weekend (the weekends I'm off) to spend it doing something fun and relaxing with our friends and family.
Her: A sleep deprived, slightly neurotic, knitting labor and delivery nurse. Him: A fun loving 9-year-old video game junkie trapped in an adult's body. She tries to get him to grow up, and he reminds her how to stay young... Two peas in a pod.
