They're right, it gets better every day.
Chris and I have developed some type of routine over the last two days. He sleeps straight from late afternoon through the evening and I'm up taking care of the baby, feeding him every 2-3 hours, pumping and doing diaper changes. At night, I sleep and Chris wakes me every 3ish hours to feed the baby. While I pump, Chris burps the baby and changes his diaper. If Bruce is still hungry, we give him the pumped milk. In the last 24 hours, we've only had to supplement with formula after 3 feedings! The amount we supplement is less too - only about half an ounce (15 mL). I think the two days we really supplemented, Bruce gained weight and more energy and is now a more efficient breastfeeder. Good job little man!
Snuggles after our morning feeding.
Chris was changing Bruce's diaper after that feeding and of course, he peed all over himself and his changing pad. It was sooo much pee and really light yellow - yay! When we first brought him home, his pee was so concentrated it was dark yellow/orange =( Bruce got another sponge bath (he loves them, no crying at all!) and then I fed him again. He was pretty content after so I snuck in a shower while Chris went to bed.
Bruce sleeping while I shower. I've given up trying to swaddle both arms tightly every time. He loves having at least one arm up.
*exhale* Things are going to be okay after all, aren't they? =)
