At the very last minute, Chris and I decided to go to Disneyland for my 25th birthday!
The day before my birthday, we hit the road with snacks and knitting in tow.
The next morning, we woke up bright and early to spend my entire birthday in Disneyland. We went to Disneyland's City Hall and picked up my birthday button.
Everywhere we went, I was wished a Happy Birthday by everyone!
We ate at Big Thunder Ranch BBQ for lunch where I had eaten with my family when I was a kid.
The weather was so nice - in the mid 70s almost all day. Luckily there were plenty of Mickey ice cream bars around to keep us cool.
Our friends, Ashley and Chris, who live in Southern California, met up with us that night for funnel cake, dinner and a couple rides.
Aaah! In the Haunted Mansion!
Before we left, I took a picture I've been waiting to take for years. I'm an RN!
That night when we got back to the hotel, I had a surprise waiting for me. Birthday balloons, flowers and cupcakes from Ashley and Chris!
I think visiting Disneyland the week after Thanksgiving was genius. The longest line we waited in was 15 minutes! We barely had enough time to take pictures while waiting in line! We loved California Screamin'...even if Chris was scared!
It's A Small World.
The Matterhorn.
On the train touring Disneyland.
In the submarine looking for Nemo.
We also crashed Chip and Dale's house.
The entire park was decorated for Christmas, it was so nice at night time!
Chris loved taking pictures...
...and eating churros - his favorite!
In California Adventure one evening it turned into a dance party to promote Tron: Legacy. It was ElecTRONica. We watched a 3D sneak peak of the movie and saw Poreotix perform!
The End of the Line Bar opened and Chris and I enjoyed a Glowjito before he played old school video games in Flynn's.
The last night we were there we went to Medieval Times. Chris had never been before and he had a blast! We cheered on the black and white knight and ate our delicious meal, sans silverware.
We had such a good time, but it's definitely good to be home. I love the feeling of coming home after vacation. We're laying low today and just recouping from vacation. We're decorating our Christmas tree and watching Christmas movies all day.
Her: A sleep deprived, slightly neurotic, knitting labor and delivery nurse. Him: A fun loving 9-year-old video game junkie trapped in an adult's body. She tries to get him to grow up, and he reminds her how to stay young... Two peas in a pod.
