Standby, what we call being on-call, is an amazing concept. Each shift has one person on standby and until you're called in, you get paid half your hourly base rate. Once you get called in, you get paid time and a half. You have to be within half an hour of the hospital, so if/when you get called in, you're nearby. Well, the sweetest part of being standby for night shift is that, if you don't get called in, you get paid to sleep! Well, tonight, I'm getting paid to watch Heroes and eat Grandma R's macaroni and cheese.
Her: A sleep deprived, slightly neurotic, knitting labor and delivery nurse. Him: A fun loving 9-year-old video game junkie trapped in an adult's body. She tries to get him to grow up, and he reminds her how to stay young... Two peas in a pod.
