We've been husband and wife for 364 days. Tomorrow is our one year anniversary. How the time has flown by! My mother-in-law, Heidi, gave us a great gift - time together, just me and Chris. She booked a stay for us at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. We stayed on the 20th floor!
Very random, but don't you just love the carpet in the hall?
We got in Monday evening after I worked the night before and slept all day. We had dinner at Burger Bar (kobe beef burgers, yum!) and saw Pirates of the Caribbean at the Metreon. The next day we walked around Chinatown and Union Square. We had delicious dim sum and shopped around during the day and saw Water for Elephants in the late afternoon. We had dinner at LarkCreekSteak where we had super delicious dessert as well. We woke up this morning to a rainy San Francisco, but were determined to walk back to Chinatown so Chris could have another fill of the dim sum he had been craving. To my surprise, who did we bump into on the way to dim sum?
The hilarious and talented (and gorgeous!) Heather Morris! If you don't know her, she's an amazing dancer, and plays Brittany on Glee. She is Chris' favorite character on the show, probably the only reason he sits through an entire episode with me. It's a common joke around here, he says, "you know what my favorite part of Glee is? The first 3 minutes of Raising Hope you record at the end." Well, this afternoon, neither of us were afraid to show off our inner Gleek.
On our official anniversary tomorrow I have a 5.5 hour class and have just enough time to come home to have dinner and a nap before going back to work that night. Not exactly the way I had planned to spend our anniversary, so I'm very thankful for Heidi for giving us the chance to spend such quality time together.
Her: A sleep deprived, slightly neurotic, knitting labor and delivery nurse. Him: A fun loving 9-year-old video game junkie trapped in an adult's body. She tries to get him to grow up, and he reminds her how to stay young... Two peas in a pod.
