Life goes on and life gets better.
Chris and Brooke's daughter, Kayla, at Heidi's life celebration.
So many people showed up at Heidi's life celebration, where our wedding celebration was held. The love and support and just the sheer number of people, was overwhelming. It's amazing how many people loved her.
One of my classmates from nursing school, Thuy, had her third daughter, Chloe. She.is.a.doll! Thuy is a NICU nurse and works with me. It's amazing to see how far we've come since nursing school.
Baby sweaters galore! One for Chloe, and one for one of the other NICU nurse's daughter, Kennedy.
I made a baby hat at the request of my sister. I took a picture of the finished product, but the colors are not as accurate. With the leftover yarn, I made a sweater for yet another one of my nursing school classmates who had a baby, little Ian. For the knitters out there, I'm sharing the back side of the sweater, where the color change happens.
Somewhere between work, school and life, Chris turned 28. We celebrated at a friend's house with dinner and brownies.
What will his 28th year bring? The police academy. After finishing his degree in Game and Simulation Programming last year, the job hunt was on hold when Heidi's health deteriorated. We took a hard look at our lives to see what we truly wanted to do. I'm back in school to become a nurse educator in addition to working at the bedside in maternal child health, and for Chris, he wants to be a police officer. I don't want either of us to have any regrets, we only have one life to live.
Spring semester ended almost 2 weeks ago and I'm enjoying my short break until my summer classes start. May 29th to June 15th is my Instructional Media class, then I have to take macroeconomics (blech!) from July 2nd to mid August. Come end of August, back to the fall semester and more nursing classes. Life goes on and life gets better.
Her: A sleep deprived, slightly neurotic, knitting labor and delivery nurse. Him: A fun loving 9-year-old video game junkie trapped in an adult's body. She tries to get him to grow up, and he reminds her how to stay young... Two peas in a pod.
